Quick Overview

My most popular soap so far! A truly original Orkney "special". A really yummy, lush, lemony-scented orange-coloured soap speckled with Orkney Beremeal bran. A little bit scrubby, but not too much. As all my soaps are cut by hand, weights may vary slightly but are on average 100g.

Overall Best seller for 3 years running! Bere (pronounced "bear") is probably one of the most ancient barley grains in the UK. It is grown in Orkney and traditionally milled into flour at the 19th century Barony water Mill in Birsay, Orkney. I wanted to create a soap that was really unusual and unique to Orkney. When I incorporated beremeal husks, or 'scrubs', as they are locally known into our soap I was thrilled to discover they had just the perfect gentle exfoliating properties I was looking to achieve. Enriched with Vitamin E and with the lovely, fresh fragrance of Lemongrass essential oil I knoe this is a winning combination. Ingredients: Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera), Sunflower Seed Oil (Helianthus annus), Palm Oil (Sodium palmate), Water (Aqua), Vitamin E Oil (Tocopheryl acetate), Lemongrass (Cymbopogen citrates), Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis), Clary Sage (Salvia sclarea) essential oils, Beremeal bran (Hordeum vulgare), Turmeric (Curuma longa). You may notice a fine white coating on some soaps. It is perfectly harmless and will disappear as soon as you use your soap. It is a natural part of the soap-making process.
